Disc golf park

Disc golf is a game similar to traditional golf playing with balls, except the players don‘t hit the balls with clubs into holes but throw disks into special baskets. People started playing disc golf in the USA around the 1970s. The goal of the game, just like in traditional golf, is to hit the target (the basket) and complete the route with as few tries (hits) as possible. Disc golf reached Lithuania in 2002 when the enthusiasts of the flying disc from Sweden visited the teachers of physical education of Lithuania, and conducted a seminar about various sports of the flying disc. A park with 18 baskets has been equipped in the Park of Culture and Leisure according to the order of Panevėžys municipality in 2019.
