Panevėžys City Art Gallery

Panevėžys City Art Gallery, established in 1990 is the biggest center of visual arts in Aukštaitija Region. The main gallery’s activities – organizing exhibitions, educational programs, storing art collections, organizing musical events, and other cultural events. Despite the mentioned activities, the gallery is also responsible for its publications. The Gallery is divided into three sections: Art Gallery, Ceramic Art Pavilion and Photography Gallery. Nearly 20 individual, group, and conceptual exhibitions representing various genres of art are presented every year representing the artists from Panevėžys, the Aukštaitija region, Lithuania, and foreign countries. Every two years the Gallery hosts the International Photography biennale “The Man and the City“. The Ceramic Art Pavilion exhibits pieces of art from Panevėžys International Ceramic Symposiums collection. The Gallery has been holding Ceramic Symposiums since 1990. It’s one of the biggest Contemporary Ceramic Collection in Eastern Europe consisting of more than 600 pieces of art and compositions created by more than 160 artists from 35 countries. The gallery became a member of the International Academy of Ceramics (IAC) in Switzerland in 2017.
