The unique museum known in the entire country as the place for one of the biggest book smuggler communities in the 19th century in Garšviai. The exhibition was set in 1987–1991. The barn within it is known as the place for hiding forbidden Lithuanian press in between the barn’s oak floor and in between its ceiling. It is also related to the activities of the writer Juozas Tumas-Vaižgantas and his parsoning years (1902–1905) in Vadatkėliai. He helped book smugglers to sort the press, hide it, and initiated donations to spread the Lithuanian press. The first barn floor was his favourite place to rest.
Museum organises educative sessions: “The Book Smuggler’s Story Telling”, “Juozas Tumas- Vaižgantas – the Lord of Flax and Cannabis”.
