Cinema Museum

In 1956 Maryte Virbickienė started working as a cinema technician, and it is then when she started collecting movie posters, movie tapes, photos of actors and actresses, newspapers and magazines about the cinema, other cinema equipment. Her passion for the cinema started when she was a little girl and got to see the showing movie process for 2 eggs as the entrance fee. She was overwhelmed with all the cinema equipment and dreamed to stand behind it. Her dream came true. Maryte Virbickienė has been transporting movies and cinema equipment back and forth on her motor bike to Raguva bureaus and cultural centres, bringing together crowds of 150 people. Back then, movies were shown only at the offices or centres of culture, as far from everyone had a TV set at home. Movies were shown every day and special shows were hosted on Fridays.
